“Grateful”

The perspiration reeks of brilliance
Seldom weep, but when I do those are tears of resilience
Existence is beauty, I insist on completing my duties
Many tasks bestowed upon me, must take out the dirty laundry
Life can be a burden, feel like you’re going up against a whole army
Stuck between a rock and a hard place, velocity of a car chase
Surround myself around those that stay out of harm’s way
Both a lover and a fighter known as a paradox
Walk a mile in my shoes you’d come to find a pair of dirty socks
Danger lurks and is in search regardless of your residence
Not arrogant, but I kill it and leave behind no evidence
Sometimes I destroy and rebuild
When it rains it pours, can I get a refill?
The body’s mainly made of H2O, I don’t even hate my foes
Every day I wake, I pray and am extremely grateful
